English grammar in Hindi & English

Noun - A noun is a word used as the name of a person , place or thing called noun.

किसी व्यक्ति , स्थान , वस्तु , गुण आदि के नाम को संज्ञा Noun कहते हैं।

             Kinds of Noun

(a) Common  Noun (  जाति वाचक संज्ञा  ) -:   It is the name given in common to every person or things of the same kind . It is not a name of any particular person or things or place.

वह Noun जो किसी जाति या एक प्रकार के विभिन्न व्यक्तियों अथवा वस्तुओं को समान रूप दिया जाता हैं  Common Noun कहलाता है ।

For example : boy , girls , teacher, elephant, soldiers, cities , streets, etc.

(b) Proper Noun ( व्यव्यक्तिवाचक संज्ञा ) -:  It is the name given to some particular person , things or place. 

Noun जो किसी विशेष person, place , thing के बारे मे बताता है Proper Noun कहलाता है।

For examples : Delhi, Sania, India, Jupiter, Kolkata, Hari , Sita etc.


(C) Collective Noun ( समूहवाचक संज्ञा ) -: It is the name of a collection of 

Persons and things treated and spoken together as a whole.

Noun जिनका प्रयोग एक समूह के तौर पर हुआ है और जो एक इकाई जैसे प्रतीत हो Collective Noun कहलाता है ।


For examples -: fleet , audience, class, committee, mod, crowd, team, herd, jury, family, parliament, nation, army etc.


(d) Abstract Noun ( भाववाचक संज्ञा ) -: It is the name of a quality , idea, concept , or state.


Noun जो गुण , कार्य , स्थिति भाव बताते हैं Abstract Noun कहलाते हैं।


For examples -: beauty , youth , honesty, death, goodness, kindness, theft, judgement, childhood, poverty, sleep slavery, hatred etc.

Note -: The names of arts and sciences (e.g. grammar, music, chemistry etc ) are also Abstract Nouns.


(e material Noun ( द्रव्यवाचक संज्ञा ) -: Material Nouns are names of materials or substances out of which things are made .

जिनमें किसी पदार्थ की संरचना या उस की बनावट होने का बोध होता है Material Noun कहलाता है ।


For examples -: gold , coal, wheat, tea, iron, silver etc.
